Eric W. Davis holds a PhD in astrophysics and has worked for decades at the intersection of theoretical physics and government-funded advanced concepts research. He was a senior research scientist at EarthTech International (the research organisation associated with the Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin, founded by Hal Puthoff) and became a science adviser to To The Stars Academy (TTSA). He has published peer-reviewed papers on topics including wormhole physics, warp drives, quantum vacuum energy, and teleportation โ areas of theoretical physics directly relevant to the exotic performance characteristics attributed to observed UAP.
Davis is notable for the 2019 New York Times report that he had briefed members of the Senate Armed Services Committee in classified sessions about what he described as "off-world vehicles not made on this earth" โ a phrase that, coming from a credentialled physicist with a government contracting history, attracted extraordinary attention.
Davis contributed to the AAWSAP/AATIP technical programme through a series of papers on exotic aerospace propulsion and propulsion concepts that might account for the performance characteristics observed in UAP. These included analyses of inertia modification, anti-gravity, warp field metrics (Alcubierre drive physics), high-power electromagnetic effects, and the theoretical minimum energy requirements for the accelerations observed in cases like Nimitz. His papers โ several of which have been partially obtained through FOIA โ represent some of the most technically sophisticated government-funded analysis of UAP-related physics ever conducted.
Davis has also been involved in the analysis of alleged UAP materials. He has spoken publicly (within the limits of his security clearances) about materials programmes examining substances with anomalous properties โ isotopic ratios, structural characteristics, or electromagnetic behaviours that cannot be explained by known engineering. This aspect of his work, more than any other, has made him a central figure in the crash retrieval debate.
The New York Times' reporting in 2019 that Davis had briefed senators in a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility) about non-terrestrial craft was among the most significant single data points in the current disclosure arc. It established, from a credentialled government contractor speaking on record to a major newspaper, that the "crash retrieval" hypothesis was being treated with serious operational seriousness within the national security establishment โ not merely as fringe speculation. Davis has declined to elaborate publicly on the classified content of those briefings.
