Apollo
God of light and prophecy
Apollo was adopted into Roman religion relatively late but became one of the most prominent Roman deities. Emperor Augustus made him his personal divine patron, and Apollo's values of reason, order, prophecy, and purification aligned perfectly with Roman ideals of civilization. He alone among Greek gods retained his name in Rome.
