Ymir is the primordial giant from whom the entire Norse cosmos is fashioned. Before gods or ordered worlds existed, Ymir emerged from the clash of elemental fire and ice. After his death at the hands of Odin and his brothers, his body became the raw material of creation — flesh to earth, blood to oceans, skull to sky.
