Odin's eight-legged horse, swiftest in the Nine Realms
Sleipnir is the greatest horse in existence — grey, with eight legs, swift enough to traverse the Nine Realms and travel between the worlds of the living and the dead. His unusual parentage (Loki shape-shifted into a mare to distract the stallion) makes him one of the most remarkable beings in Norse myth. He carries Odin and is the only horse capable of carrying a rider into Hel.
