Freyja is the foremost goddess in Norse mythology — a figure of extraordinary complexity who embodies love, desire, and beauty alongside war, death, and powerful magic. She taught seiðr (shamanic Norse magic) to the gods, including Odin. Crucially, she shares in the dead with Odin: half of all warriors slain in battle go to her hall Fólkvangr; the other half go to Valhalla.
