First ancestor of the gods

Búri is the first divine being, ancestor of the Æsir gods. He was licked free from salt ice by Audhumla over three days. His son Borr, fathering Odin, Vili, and Vé with the giantess Bestla, established the line of gods who would shape the Norse cosmos.
